Quick Keys

All modules in the software adhere to a standard convention for function keys and other special keys.  Some keys may not be applicable at various points in the software, in which case pressing them will have no effect.   The standard keys are as follows:

Context Sensitive On-Line Help  (Note: Our standard help files are in an older file format that is not visible in more recent versions of WIndows unless you download and install the appropriate WinHlp32.exe program from Microsoft.  Go to:   https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/917607 )

F4

Add a new record (in the data you are currently editing)

F5

(Not used)

F6

Set as today's date  (Date data entry fields only)

F7

Clear to the right of the cursor (and move on - see configuration)

F8

Delete the current record

F9

Pop-up selection window for the current field

F10

"Apply"  (force a "Save" of current data entry), or "OK"

Esc

"Cancel"  (Abort: from the current screen or operation, or the change you have just made inside a data entry field)

Insert

Toggle "Insert Mode" On/Off during data entry

Home/End

Move to Start/End of current field (or Top/Bottom of a table)

Page Down/Up

Move to Next/Previous screen (saving current data entry)

Ctrl Pg Up/Dn

Move to the Top/Bottom of a table/database

Arrow Keys

Move between menu selections or within/between data fields

Ctrl-R/L Arrow

Move a word at a time Right or Left through text data

Tab & Shift-Tab

Move between data entry fields (or pages of a module window / data entry form)

Ctrl-F10

(In WorkFlow To-Do List:  Expands the Note Text field)

Mouse

Normal Windows mouse conventions (navigate between windows, menu selection, and cursor movement within data entry)
